Dining at Dar Nour
In a few
short years Dar Nour has gained a reputation for offering some of the
best Moroccan cuisine in Tangier.
Abdellatif, our chef, honed his cooking skills with the women who worked
here before. Little by little, he and Philippe, the owner, have taken a
different approach, and created new dishes which retain the subtleties of
the Moroccan use of spices. So, as well as tajeens with pickled lemons,
and chatchouka, you will also have the chance to taste courgettes sautéed
with khlii, or skate tajeen with beans, and will find other delights on
the menu such as soufflés with date liqueur and Andalusian custards. This
creative approach continues, and there are new dishes to enjoy each day
(150 Dh/person). Our breakfasts are mentioned as being some of the best to
be found in Morocco. We choose our fresh, raw ingredients with great care,
and spend all the time needed to prepare each dish.

Abdellatif, Nadia and Mohamed take care of breakfast, the housework, and
receiving guests, which is our priority and which is done simply but with
great care. Laundry (machine washed) is also available.
• The breakfast table is available until all guests at Dar Nour
are up as our guests need rest and are on holiday.
• Relaxing on the rooftop terraces of Dar Nour is unforgettable.
Tea is served while you look at some of the most beautiful and surprising
views of Tangier. Sunbathing is also an option.
• There is guarded parking by the entrance to the Kasbah, only 50
metres from the house.
• Karim and Abdou, the taxi drivers can collect and take you to
the airport (150DH) or the port (50DH).
• There are information sheets, and a guide to Tangier, which give
details of what we consider some of the best addresses in Tangier and
other parts of Morocco.
• Massage, hammam (turkish bath) and gym nearby, guided visits of
the old city, a true library of Moroccan literature.
